The 5 Pillars of God’s Economy
God's Economy: The Five Pillars
God’s economy is not built on profit margins or power structures—it’s built on truth, purpose, and eternal value. At Makers Gen, we recognize that we are stewards of a greater Kingdom, governed not by the ways of man but by the Word of God. This economy is founded on five unshakable pillars: Community & Generosity, Government, Purpose, Stewardship, and Industry. Each one is rooted in scripture, revealing how Heaven’s order shapes how we live, lead, give, and build.
1. Community & Generosity
We are a chosen people, united in love and purpose, called to serve one another with humility and generosity. The early church modeled radical generosity, sharing all things in common. God's design for community is rooted in mutual care, unity, and the joyful act of giving.
Key Scriptures
· 1 Peter 2:9-10
'But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.'
· 1 Corinthians 12:25-27
'that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. '
· 1 Peter 4:8-11
'And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.'
· Leviticus 19:15-18
'You shall do no injustice in judgment. You shall not be partial to the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty. In righteousness you shall judge your neighbor. You shall not go about as a talebearer among your people; nor shall you take a stand against the life of your neighbor: I am the Lord . ‘You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.'
· Acts 2:44-47
'Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.'
· Ephesians 4:2-6
'with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.'
· Philippians 2:3-16
'Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.'
· Romans 12:3-21
'For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.'
· Proverbs 11:25
'The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.'
· 2 Corinthians 9:6-15
'But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. As it is written: “He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.” Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God, while, through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men, and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the exceeding grace of God in you. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!'
2. Government
All authority is established by God. We honor righteous leadership, uphold order, and submit to His divine government above all. Even as we navigate earthly systems, we remain citizens of a higher Kingdom, guided by the justice and peace of Christ’s rule.
Key Scriptures
· Romans 13:1-7
'Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake. For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing. Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.'
· 1 Peter 2:13-17
'Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake, whether to the king as supreme, or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men— as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God. Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.'
· Isaiah 9:6-7
'For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.'
· Acts 5:29
'But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men. '
· Titus 1:5
'For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking, and appoint elders in every city as I commanded you— '
· Psalm 22:28
'For the kingdom is the Lord ’s, And He rules over the nations.'
· Ephesians 1:22
'And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, '
3. Purpose
We were created on purpose, for a purpose. Our work is an act of worship, and our gifts are part of God’s redemptive plan. We seek first His Kingdom, trusting that all things work together for good to those who are called according to His purpose.
Key Scriptures
· Romans 8:28
'And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. '
· Matthew 28:19-20
'Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.'
· Romans 12:1-2
'I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.'
· 1 Corinthians 10:31
' Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.'
· Matthew 6:33
'But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. '
· Jeremiah 29:11
'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord , thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. '
· Proverbs 19:21
'There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord ’s counsel—that will stand.'
· Revelation 4:11
'“You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”'
· Isaiah 55:11
'So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.'
· Genesis 1:26
'Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” '
4. Stewardship
Everything we have has been entrusted to us by God. We are not owners—we are stewards. Faithful stewardship means managing our time, finances, families, and resources with integrity, generosity, and purpose.
Key Scriptures
· Genesis 2:15
'Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. '

· Colossians 3:23
'And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, '
· Malachi 3: 8-12
'“Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” Says the Lord of hosts; “And all nations will call you blessed, For you will be a delightful land,” Says the Lord of hosts.'
· 1 Corinthians 4:1-2
'Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. '
5. Industry
From the beginning, God placed mankind in the garden to work. Industry—done with diligence, integrity, and excellence—is a form of worship. We labor not for vanity, but as unto the Lord, building systems, goods, and services that serve His people and reflect His glory.
Key Scriptures

'Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh day shall be a holy day for you, a Sabbath of rest to the Lord . Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death. '
